Day 3

Studio: Pinapple

So let's talk about the good things first. The people th are so nice. Very helpful and lovely. It was really packed the today because there was an audition going on for actors and singers. I think for a play or something. Bt you wa in and there is a desk right there with two people working at all times.. You have to pay a two dollar entry fee and that is for all day and that allows you to take any class. Bt the interesting thing to me was you paid the teacher for the class. Either before or after warm-ups. And they were cheap too £7 or £6. If you didnt know that is the symbol for pounds. Lol. But yeah they are cheap I love it. So the first class I took was a jazz class. And the class was packed p. I was expecting this young girl all edgy and shit but she had to be at least in her fifties or late fourties. But it was amazing by the end of the warm up I was dripping in sweat!! I loved it! The routine we learned was almost cheery to me with some jazz moments in there but I was living no doubt! And this girl had her damn fur jacket layer out on the floor and I kept tripping of it on my skate turn so finally I just moved it!! Right after that class I went and took from a guy Dax. He was cool I like it he did an old school song. The only thing is and what I have noticed about a lot of the dance out here the is no meaning behind their movement it is just movement! So like the good dancer I try to make something of it. I liked the combo wasn't In love with it but I was certainly satisfied!! He also had these moments where there nothing. And it just seemed to be in the wrong places. Cause not that not moving can tell a story, but I just didn't get it. I didn't understand the meaning of it. There was no reason to holding when it was a perfect time to be moving. Anywho I still enjoyed it he was a really sweet guy and the chores was good. Right after him I took Pete. Love this guy turns out I actually know him from Debbie's! We hung out for a little bit before I left la, it was after kristins class. We walked around the block and talked. gave some advice on places to dance abroad. Great guy. Totally nice and welcoming and warm hearted. And I remember him from class in LA he was dope. So as we are learning the choreo I w digging it cause I can see what he has learned and used in his own style, but what I didn't like was that it was small movements. And I am a big movement person and that is what I have noticed about most the dance scene out here the movements are small. I like them big. Real big. Using my whole body big!! Don't get me wrong I really liked it and maybe it was just the routine for the day and the next one will be different cause you know how some dancers change it up?!? But ya it was just small stuff. It was fast so I was sweating for sure!!

I am certainly going to try and bunch more classes from there from people I heard were dope. So I can't wait!!

About the facility tho. It was cool place not really big but they had room. The biggest studio could hold like 50 maybe the smallest was like 10/15 people max. It's London everything is tiny here. The main floor had two studios with the smallest little waiting place where people were constantly going through Tao about annoying. Down stairs from that was the changing rooms and massage therapy room(now that should be required in all studios, just saying, and if you are a dancer reading this you know exactly what I mean!!! In the words of beloved brandie"ooookkkkaaaaaayyyy") then you to to the top floor and there was a another larger studio, they re holding an audition in there so I couldn't get a good look at it but it looked huge! And next that was a total snack bar!! Hello my kind of place!!! £1 waters it's like heaven. They had a digital screen displaying the classes. Which was a nice little touch and right down the street they had a clothing shop!

After that it was break time before I had my next session. I went to go go eat, walked around and took pictures, god the more I see of this place the more and more I love it!! I can really see myself living here. I feel so at home and like I'm not a tourist at all. Its so weird. But amazing.

So I met my friend Tiffany at the YMCA Centre. What an amazing sport facility I was madly in love I would die to open a place like that specifically for dancers. Well what am I say I am. One day. But yeah we took Fred Realness!! It was popping and locking something I'm still learning and trying to get. Now he is major og dancer! Fred assisted Locking legend Greg Campbellock Jr (not the popping OG who is Boogaloo Sam. And cant get that wrong either cause these people purist which isnwhat i love, and let me a sure you i was schooled on that!! But I'm here to learn right?!? And let me tell you I walked out of there with so much knowledge and I fell like that is a teacher you need to take and learn from. If you didn't get it he broke it down, he watched you and he didn't care if you messed up he still watched and critiqued. I walked away a happy man!!! I wish every class was that amazing!! He was like the Kristin Lorello or popping to me!! And the people in his class were not only amazing dancers but the most nicest people ever! I talked to a few of them after and they were the most kindest and open hearted people!! Just keepin it REAL!!

I can't wait to check out the other studios tomorrow to see what they have to offer!! Bring it on!! Good night for now you can check my Facebook for pics!!
