Day 5,6, &7!!!

Wow this weekend has been amazing I don't even know where to begin.

So Friday I got up and hung out with James (husband of the couple I am staying with) for a bit and we just talked and talked and talked. I think we must have talked for about 4 hours. He is such a sweet guy with a pure heart. So finally I had to get going I wanted to go take class,mi couldn't just sit around all day, lol. As much as I wanted to I just couldn't. I was a bit conflicted on Where to go because the teachers that I researched did not seem that great and I wanted to get some good classes. So I think out of comfort I just went back to pineapple. And I am glad I did. I took Kim's hip hop class. She normally teaches with Cisco, who I know from la I see him from time to time when he is in LA and he is a fucking dope ass dancer so I knew this was going to be a dope ass class. Granted he was out of town, Kim was off the chain as well. She was a great teacher. I planted my self right in the front and center, and to be honest, I'm not the type to usually be in the front and center but I'm trying to do things differently, and I could totally see myself growing by doing so. I am picking up choreo much better, now I just have to focus on watching myself in the mirror and not watching other people. Cause that's what fucks me up. She brought It back to old school with some old Beyonce and Sean Paul!! Her choreo was sick, I liked that she taught nice and slow going over an eith count over till people got it. No a lot of teachers do that, they expect students to pick it up after the first time showing it. And it's like you just want to tell them "sorry not all of us are made like robots, some of us were bred with learning disabilities, like me bitch!!" hahaha but you never say it, but what I have noticed to is I'm not getting as shy asking questions being in a foreign place is really breaking me out side my shell. I'm feeling the cracks beginning to appear. But yeah she was amazing!! Definitely will take more of her!! So then after that I took Supermalcom's house class. I was recommended to take his class by a friend of mine, and so glad I did. He struck me the moment I heard him talk cause I was expecting a London accent but he had an African accent. I loved it!! His warm up was brutal. Mind you I'm new to house (certainly becoming a new favorite style of mine) but I was drenched by time the hand hit 5!! What I like too was that his movements in the choreo part had a lot of African flavor to them, hips and all. I have never moved my body like that so I must have looked a fool but I didn't care I was loving it. Loving the exploration of how to moe my body that way. He would start out teaching it slow and we would do the several moments slowly and then we would pick up the pace to where it looked like we were floating. Well some of the students I looked more like I was a wild chicken. Bt hey I was trying. In house I've only learned the feet part. So adding more was a challenge but I loved it. So after those two brutal classes there was no one I really cared to take from. So then I got changed in the locker room cause I was to meet my fiend Drew and we were going out for dinner and some drinks. Well, I get to a payphone to call him, we arrange that we are going to meet in front of Angus Steak House. Keep in mind that this was my first time meeting him. I was introduced to him through a friend of mine back in the states, who sent out a mass email to his friends ok seas to let them know I was coming, and a few had written me back wanting to take me out and show me around. Drew was one of them, he Is this great Aussie who is married to his best friend in order to have a UK visa. Lucky him maybe I need to find a friend to marry so I could have my visa!! Lol! Aywho so He said he will be about 20 min or so. So I walked down to Leicester Square and waited in front of the steak house. Two hours go by and I think "omg this fool stood me up, what a dick!" so I walk to a payphone and call his ass. The moment he picked up he was like"omg there you are, I looked all over for you. I thought I saw you talking to some other guy, but then it wasn't you." do I believe him, it's questionable. But I had not noticed him at all, and I had no idea what I was looking for. But this time we Arranged to meet in front of the theater down the street and I told him "I am wearing a bright blue hat can't miss that!!" after we finally meet up he looked just like his pictures. Good looking but not my type. He almost look Armenian but with a Aussie accent. The guy is hilarious, I told him before we do anything I had to eat. I was holding my hunger thinking we were going to eat, so he took me to a really good spot to grab a quick bite to eat. We then walk over to where all the gay bars are. I felt like I was walking with a celebrity cause he knew everyone it seemed saying hi to everybody hugs and kisses. So we get to this spot called LoProfile. The entrance hall as this big long hallway with lights that reminded me of a time warp going up and down the hall in the shapes of hearts and stars (very gay and 60's)then you take set of stairs do to where you bring booming house music! Very dark and raver lights going off, a TON of shirtless men with hot bodies everywhere!! My eyes where we're like daggers at every six pack in the room. Some hot some not! we walk to the bar I get a beer well three actually cause there was a limit on credit cards and immediately I cover the top with my thumb cause I could tell people were on something and definitely did not want that slipped into my drink. drew face me a warning, and I could tell he was a little high on whatever it was too. Something called methadrone, not to get confused with methadone. They also called it meow meow. Anywho I had both bottles covered. As I w waiting in line some dude asked me if I wanted some, and from there I can't tell you how many time people were asking me if I wanted some. I just laughed and said no thanks. I am coming up on my 6 years of sobriety no need to break that! I only three beers that night. I was told I was really hot by a couple guys. And guys I actually found really at active too. That's a first. Total boost of confidence. At least for the moment lol. I also met his friend who was another American visiting this 40 year old who was fucked up, but hilarious, kept saying don't I look good for 40. You can tell he had work done. Hahaha. Around three o'clock the club started dying out being that they closed at four. But then people were making their way to Vauxhall ( the other side of London) for more partying all night till the wee hours of the morning. Me. I was tired I went home. went to bed at like six that morning. Cause I had to catch the bus and started laundry cause I had no underwear lol.

Saturday;
I woke up around noon that day tired as hell from Friday. But still got myself up and ready to heard back to the studio. Again the classes at the other studios didn't look so appetizing for my hunger to dance so back to Pinapple it was. Before I got there I had stopped and got a bite to eat cause I was starving. By time I got to the studio it was time for the last classes and there w a house class taught by Ryan. Again didn't know what to expect. We wade in kinda looking like a bum

SUNDAY:
 I was excited because there was class called LA HipHop with Carlos Neto. He was cool he reminded me a lot of Devin Jameson nbut I like his choreo you can tell he made it up right before the class started cause he was having trouble teaching it. But again I found myself standing in the fron of the class and I did well picking up the choreo. and I was certainly sweating by the end of the class. After him I went and took who I thought I was going to be Venus for some whacking she had a sub though. Now this was my first time actually taking whacking. I have watched the classes at Debbie's but never taken cause I only wanna learn from the best and Kumari is a busy busy gal. Aywho, yeah this was more of an old school disco class with added whacking. But I did learn stuff about whacking I just didn't like some of the warm ups or how he taught the class I was expecting more whacking. But I got some of the fundamentals and history which is always a plus. I wanted more of a challenge tho. So hopefully the next time it will be better.

Monday:
So on my last day I finally got a chance to check out a new studio and soooo glad I did. It was DanceWorks.  Reminded me of Pineapple if it had a baby with broadway dance center. Had the same kinda facilities for Channing and shower and had a snack bar right as you walked in. It was great. So I got to take Kash's class it was fun. I like his choreo it has a lot of potential. Guess you could consider him one of those YouTube sensations out in UK. But I had fun I was certainly living. And adding my own flavor of course. He liked my style. But then next was one of the best classes. Mandy. This girl killed it. I was living in her class like I was never living before. I walked in a bit late so I missed some of the warm up but what I did catch I loved! Abs, stretch, is all about what I got. But we did a nice but short across the floor. Leaps my favorite. But then we got not the choreo and damn was this bitch on it. From movement of the body to the music. She was on point. I killed it too. And she got it on tape so I am hoping she posts it soon. Cause I wanna see. ANSI love how she had us freestyle in the beginning and end too. And so when class was over we got to talking and she is from the states and she actually has been living in the UK for ten years now but she got the easy route and married her way in. But she is gonna get some tips for me on how I might be able to get a visa. Ugh loved her loved her loved her. Then I went back to James's and Cami's to pack and get ready for Ireland

Tuesday:
Got up early so I was sure not to miss my bus. And in case I got lost in which I did. Come it is me we talking about. So I finally get to the bus stop about 20 min late totally thinking I missed my bus. But luckily it just showed up. I was so relieved. Took about an hour to get to the airport and the rest was ray got myself checked in and cleared to go. So then all I had to was wait. So I popped open my hunger games (book 3 whoohoo go me) and read till I had to be at my flight. So I got on the plane. And it was a short ride over it was full too. Didn't talk to the guy next to me. Or anyone. But coming over the island was beautiful . Check my Facebook for photos I love how green everything was. And the old eyes of the building. I could feel the history. Lol. So I got off the plane, which reminded me of la cause the had the front and back open to get off. Burbank all over again. Lol. Then I got to the customs. And let me tell you. No joke. The guy was a total dick for no reason. Even the guy next to him asked him to move me and him to the next booth cause he didn't want to hear it. And kept rolling his eye. It was quite funny really. But dude how man times can you asks me the same question, cause he got the same answer ever time. He even called the guy I'm staying with to ask him question. Planning for travel better before I go to Paris. Thinking of getting a euro rail pass it might be much simpler. Anywho I finally got out of there and to the street where I caught a bus to the Centre of Ireland. From there I walked to the house where I am staying. And what happened. I got lost but not for long. They gave me a map at the airport. And for some reason I can read maps pretty well. Despite all my learning disabilities lol. So when I got here met The guy. Such a nice guy welcomed me with open arms and sat me down and we talked and got to know each other a little bit. He also pulled out a map and showed me some really cool places to go. So after bout 2 hours I finally went out to go get some food and a drink tok a cab. Back to city centre and ate at a place called bliss cafe. Met someone who was really interesting got to talking and we are for sure gonna hang out again. He was really nice. Everyone here is really nice. But bye 1030 I was ready for bed it seemed like such a long day. As was laying bed I research the studios here and they are all far apart which suck cause some are like 2 hours if I'm walking and I'm certainly not gonna take a taxi so I have to ask more on if there is more than one way to get to these studios. But I have to admit. The classes don't seem that great. But hey if I don't like it ( I did some research and the kid who teaches jazz funk is younger than me and ummm yeah well see) at least I can moe on to somewhere else and enjoy Ireland for a couple days. Then off to Paris!!! Where I know there is dancing!!
