Sweden
So I just arrived in Gothenburg. And arriving here I have a great feeling about this place already. Feel like I'm starting fresh. If they don't speak Swedish try speak English which is a nice change from Paris. Lol. It kinda reminds me of my mom cabin during the winter. Lots of trees with no leaves and lots of snow but surprisingly it's not as cold as I thought it was going to. The air feels good. For some reason I feel use to it. Very similar to the kind of cold I'm use to. I like it. It's very open and has an old school vibe to it. The guard was nice of course he questioned me and asked to see my stuff but he was totally cool and seemed to be intrigued by my mission. And with that I have to say I'm very happy with my choice I have made to stop at 8 countries and continue when I have a sort of establishment. I don't consider a quite. It's more like a pause to get things in order so I don't get kicked out. I mean I could complete it all, but the chances of me being able to stay would be slim to none! I'd have to have a miracle, who knows maybe their will be but I don't want to chance it cause with my luck and the way I run, luck won't be on my side so I am going to take the safe route. Not usually like me, but I need to remember I'm not in the states no more, and I don't want any trouble with the law! Plus I'm ready to have a space (most likey a room at the most.being in a shared apartment.) to myself. For a little bit. I feel like its been forever since I have been able to enjoy the pleasures of getting off. Hahaha. Blunt but true. Omg I look out the window of the bus and there was a family ice skating on a frozen lake! Sick!!! And I also finished the Hunger Games trilogy. My first trilogy I ever finished. Book wise. Great series! Can't wait for the movies. To see how the depicted the books. I have it in my head but we shall see you know movies that are based from books are never as good, but I'm having faith cause I love Jennifer Lawrence. Now I'm onto the book "We Need To Talk About Kevin" thanks to Monkey for lending me the book I'm only on the sixth page I'm intrigued! My palm are sweating I'm so excited to be here. Smiling forthe first time in a long time it seems. One of the best parts is that while I'm waiting for the couple I'm staying with tonight I get to go dance which is where I am heading now. But first I need to find wifi to check on emails and stuff. Then to dance! And this studio has some dope dancers, so I am excited! Very excited! Gonna be funny me walking in with this big ass bag but I just want to dance so honestly I could care less! What an interesting city already from the views. More to come. .
Off the plane and to the studio amazing feeling. Twisted Feet Dance Academy. My first stop. Cute little placed tucked in the back of a little shopping center but in a huge warehouse looking building. Got two stories. Upstairs is another ginger studio with another lounge area with a fridge and microwave. Very cool, and modern. The people here are fun they love to freestyle in the lounge and have music going. So many different people. Young and old. Kinda reminds me of Debbie's. Excited for my class class here. It's MTV Fusion with Nina. I got introduced to her when I was at the desk and she is young and very sweet. She also teaches a heels class. So looks like she is going tone fun said she has been out to la to dance as well, like many of the instructors here, so I'm intrigued to see what she brings. And intruded to see if I'll slay or go down in flames. Some of these kids here are pretty dope. I can tell some are looking at me like I a crazy though cause of my bag I brought with me. Or is questioning what the hell I'm doing here. I'm surprised by how much of a melting pot it is here with all different ethnicities. France was mostly caucasian people, but here no. I feel like I am back in la.
Class was dope. I actually knew someone too. Well two. The Swedish twins. Hahaha it was good to see them. But class was dope finally some good choreo. The only bad thing was the studio was hella small soci kept hitting people and fucking up at times. Which got a little annoying. It fit maybe 20 people and a crowded 20. Annoying. So I leave the studio and wait for the bus. Get n the bus and the guy helps me use my card. But guess the fuck what not only do I get off one exit past the closer one not that it was that bad. But half way I realized I don't feel my wallet. That's right folks. The first of the trip I lose my wallet but I know it must have fallen out n the bus cause I kept getting in and out the bag and I'm sure it fell out on the bus I walked all the way back to see if I dropped it looking all over for like two hours. But I am sure it was on the bus. And there was some cash but in swedeish money it wasn't a whole lot. It was like losing 20 bucks, yeah, who wants to lose 20 bucks no one (especially with the way economy is today) but hey it could have been worse. And it had some copies of some stuff like my account and passport (which can't do anything with a paper copy anyway) and a copy of my credit card. Ya nothing that can steal my identity or track me down don't think anyone out here is going to need much with a American bank. Let a lone a bank that is not even in Sweden. But. Called the bank. Thank god I had Skype credit. Froze everything. And they said if I can't find it I can have a new here n 2 days which is comforting. So I'll wait till tomorrow. And see what happens. Figure it out from there. Look it could be a lot worse. And i can go to bed n peace knowing i wont wake up broke!! And i checked my account. But anywho so after I got done tring to search for it. I finally arrived at the couples place I'm staying with. And omg they are so cute. Total hippies! But with out the pot! Don't watch tv, totally earth and money savers, so cute she is really pretty, he's cool all nerdy like. But we talked for hours, they were so intruded with my life story. This was the first experience I had with other surfers where we like t down and really got to now each other. Well except for James and Cami (if your reading this I miss you guys)! But yeah imma finish tomoorw it's time for bed! Well pretty little liars first. Then bed.
Monday 13
So my last night in Sweden and god damn is all I have to say! This has been a damn trip. Fuckin Sweden man! Let me tell you. The funny thing is I'm laughing at the whole situation! From my credit card situation to the dance scene to the guy I'm staying with. All such great fun. Yes even losing my credit card part. Where to start hmmmmm. Well so when I left the couples place I was staying with I left and went to Stephan's house. Meet him at the central station, and no problem finding him. Kinda cute actually. Older but looks great! And such a nice guy. Like everyone here so nice! He helped me get a card for the transit while I didn't have cash. Made dinner. Very chill and warm energy. Hahaha. And certainly not shy! But let me tell you I had no problem it's all about getting to know people right. He let me know if I needed to stay longer I was mo then welcome and he'd help me as much as he can. He showed me all the cool spots in the center and told me all about the city. We went to this bomb French cafe on the second day. The cook told me I was hella attractive. Though he wasn't I smiled back and said thank you and blushed. I met him at his work one day which was sick. He pretty much takes care of a whole park. So he knows a lot about plants. Bunt it was gorgeous inside. I'd never been in a greenhouse before, but certain respected the beauty of it. Never seen anything like it. Posted some pics on my Facebook. But yeah then checked out some of the spots he told me. It was just beautiful. Intruded to see what it looks like during the spring, but winter is gorgeous with the snow.
The dancers here as so nice I got to check out a place called the dansforum which I could tell you know would be my home if I were to live here. The people, the dancers, just is amazing, such heart there. I met Anna who is the cutest damn thing I've ever seen. Tiny. Adorable. Kind. Helpful. Just amazing. We definitely hit it off, and within minutes she was like if we ever need a teacher we are gonna call you. Told her PLEASE DO!!! I told her my story and what I was doing currently and she was like I got to introduce you to Mike. He is from LA too and now lives here in Sweden. Thought he would be a good connect for me. And let me tell you. It was funny when he walked through the door. Not even a hello from both of us, but OMG you look hella familiar. We spent all class going "oh wait I remember, wait no" finally at the end he walked up to me and said "Trey Rich" them it clicked we use to take class together with Trey! So yeah the next day we hung out for a bit before he went to Australia. And he gave me some good advice, and we just caught up. Love the guy. But yeah I took his class sadly that day it was his beginner jazz class but hey class was fun a good beginner class is good to take sometime. Certainly got to just live and have fun to good music. Sad I couldnt take his other class. But I did take several others. Next I took my girl Anna's Zumba class. Ok holy shit! I think every dancer should take a Zumba class not only is good for cardio and stamina but it's a good class where the energy is just amazing! It was my first ever Zumba class and certainly won't be my last one either! I like that you get to shout out too. But you gotta take someone that is fun to take from that you know you'll learn from. And you can add your own flavor. Aaaaand you get not only cardio but you work out every part of the body abs, ass, legs, back. Amazing! Then I took a classic modern class. It was amazing Cunningham based! It felt so good to go back to that. I haven't done it since my professor Paula's class. Ugh my hips never felt so open and stretched but it was great. Then I took a modern jazz class. That class good, felt like an idiot cause by time we hit choreo (mind you this is a school so they learn choreo for three weeks and then after three weeks learn new choreo, I was there the day before new chore) he didn't even teach it was just ok do it a bunch of times. Then the last five min he did a little something new. But really!!! Totally felt like an idiot. The funny part to it all. He came up to me and told me "you are a beautiful dancer" I couldn't help but laugh. I felt so retarded the pope probably would've looked better haha. Not to mention that was three classes in a row. I was beat!
So now gotta tell you bout my credit card. So as you know I lost it the first night I got here. On a bus coming from the studio. Cancelled it that night and got a new one ordered the next day. They told me I will have my new one by either Saturday or Monday. I was cool with that. I went down to the bus station and got my ticket changed free of charge which was cool didn't have to pay a fee even though I didn't order insurance. So I waited and kong rolls around did laundry all day with Stephan to keep distracted with time. But would still look out the window every now and then. Spotted a ups truck once, but didn't think much of it, thinking they would buzz up or something. So finally it's time to check the box. My luck. No card. And for some reason stephan said lets call the lost and found again just to check to see if they did find it. What do know someone turned my card in. No wallet but my card! And they closed in 25. I through my shoes on jacket on. Bolted out the door, and it was snowing. Luckily it wasn't hard to find and got my old card. Went back to the house And i called the bank to see if they can reactivate the old card. Ya of course they cant. So again i had to tell them my situation.Went through a million people till I got to a really helpful guy. He was able to track it down the new card. And got in contact with ups and turns out that that ups truck I saw had my card but needed the code to get in. But he told me they closed at 8 pm it was 710 and all the way in the town below Gothenburg took bout 45 min. You bet your ass i hung up and got on the next tram. When I got to the last stop at 811 I ran my ass to that UPS sign that was a good block and a half away. And noir was not a short block. And it was snowing harder. Igot to that door and Blythe grace of god it was open still. And she said, your lucky I didn't lock that door. She got me the envelope I out peed my pants! But out of courtesy of not peeing in the floor I waited till I left and went on the side of the road in the snow. And now I am heading back to pack my bag and get to my bus to Stockholm. That's a 7 hour bus ride. And then I have 8 hours to hang out before I catch a flight to Poland. God is it. Friday yet?!?
Forgot to mention I got to see the Eurovision which is like the Olympics of singing for all of Europe kinda like American idol but it's way different! I will admit the talent is way different out here. I didn't know what to think. Joke or no joke? Some were really good, like amazing, but like 2 is some. The rest we're like really?!? Got my dose of Swedish culture that night for sure! The Swedish Justin Beiber looks even more gay believve it or not!!
Ready for FNF! Think I am going to get a room at a hotel for the next day or two. So I'm 100%. My head hurts. Still got this cold hanging on by a string I just need to lay down for a day or two and just pig out. N give my body a nice rest. I've been dancing and moving through this cold and I just want it gone now. And I'm gonna be smart bout it this time no one to stay with anyways I think it's a sign! And I'll fucking take it!!&
